This class will have
a maximum enrollment of 12 and all students must be potty trained.) This
course is a combination of forty-five minutes of Fairy Tale Theatre (see
description below) and forty-five minutes of Kinder Dance (see
description in Dance Section). This class will run from Sept. 2 – May 21.

emphasis on acting technique, creating a character, scene study,

BASIC ACTING FOR TEENS (Fall Only)

Have you always wanted to act, but were
afraid to? This course will introduce you to basic skills in acting such

don’t expect to just sit back and watch…everyone is expected to “get in

people did drama? And have you ever wanted to try different kinds of
theatre? This interactive class will take you from ancient theatre to
modern theatre. Acting, Improvisation, Art, and Music combine to make
Theatre History fun! This is a nine week course.

PERFORMANCE
SLICES OF SHAKESPEARE (Winter Only)

We’ve
sliced and diced Shakespeare into bite-sized pieces so you can learn
about some of his most famous plays, without even using Cliff Notes!
Take a tour through Renaissance Theatre as we rehearse and perform
scenes and monologues from such famous works as “Twelfth Night”, “Much
Ado About Nothing”, “Macbeth”, and “Taming of the Shrew”. Everyone will
be cast and some may have multiple roles. Participation in the final
performance will be expected of all students enrolled. This is a nine
week course.

FAIRY TALE SURPRISE (Winter Only)
AGES: 8-12

We have a collection of Fairy Tales to
perform but there is just one problem – the endings haven’t been
written. Students will write the endings themselves. Acting, directing,
and playwriting will be used in this unique class. Everyone will be cast
and some may have multiple roles. Participation in the final performance
will be expected of all students enrolled. This is a nine week course.

IT’S SATURDAY (A Musical) (Fall Only)
AGES: 9-12

An all School Musical Revue celebrating
a day off in the day of a kid. This will be a step-by-step study of how
a production is put together, beginning with auditions and including
script analysis, blocking, memorization, approaching a character, adding
technical elements, and ending with a performance. Basic acting skills
will be emphasized. Everyone enrolled will receive a role. This is a
nine week course.
COST: $125.00 per session

ON THE RADIO (A Musical) (Winter Only)
AGES: 9-12

A musical that celebrates the radio,
where America hears the songs that become the soundtracks of their
lives. Welcome to KYDZ, the radio station that plays the oldies, the
goodies, and all the songs kids have loved throughout the years. This
will be a step-by-step study of how a production is put together,

memorizing scripts? Do you love the show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Do
you want to try things you’ve never tried before? Then this is the class
for you! You’ll learn lots of different games, exercises and activities
that will help you stretch your acting skills, and learn to think
quickly on your feet. But be careful… you may have so much fun that
you’ll forget you’re learning something! This is a nine week course.

ADVANCED IMPROVISATION (Winter Only)
AGES: 9 & up
INSTRUCTOR: Heather Journell Saturday 9:30 – 10:45
This course will take Improvisation to a
new level. Various improv techniques will be explored including the
“Harold” technique. New games, exercises and activities will help
stretch acting skills and build on the elements learned in Basic
Improvisation. This is a nine week course.
